Donald Munro Dunkerton, 80, passed into the presence of his beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 20, 2024 at home. He was born March 10, 1944 in Yonkers, New York to Nathan E. and Margaret L. Dunkerton. Don had three brothers, David (Martha) the oldest, Thomas (Maureen), and James (Jane). Don graduated from Gorton High School in 1962, Emmaus Bible School in 1965 and Taylor University in 1969. Interested in foreign missions, he served a summer in Spain in 1964 and again for three years in Seville, Spain 1972-1975 with his wife and family. In 1967 Donald met Diana Keller at Yonkers Chapel, N.Y. They were married in January 1969. They have six children, Scott (Michelle), Gregory (Kathryn), Lisa (Mark) Leibowitz, Laurie (Ryan) Mitchell, Robert (Melissa), Stephanie (Trevor) McPherson. They also happily shared 17 grandchildren. Besides serving overseas Don also served on the staff of Emmaus Bible College for over 20 years and was an administrator of Emmaus Bible Courses in Spanish both in Spain and in the U.S. prisons for almost 40 years. In addition He served in a full time capacity at the Kenilworth Gospel Chapel for 30 years. Summers were filled with ministries at many children's Bible camps and Vacation Bible Schools at many local churches. Don had a winsome way and a humble servant attitude, for which he was greatly loved by many. He was also a great competitor in both games and sports, and many have felt those stings. He also loved his New York Yankees. A genuinely enjoyable, godly servant of the Lord he is missed by his family and so many who were fortunate enough to know him.
